William Faulkner's Rowan Oak - Oxford, Mississippi - May 2012
Beautiful warm Sunday afternoon.
Utilized Nikon D3S camera, hand held with Nikon AF-S 70-200mm 1:2.8G lens -- lighting was natural -- but picked a spot that was shaded from the direct sun.
First opportunity to shoot professional model Ms. Katie Dintelman. Most lovely and talented model, kept a great attitude and never lost her creative energy even with 90 degree temperature and no access to the "facilities" as the home was closed for the afternoon. And she was definitely OK with my request of bare feet because she informed me she was raised a "country girl"!
This old gray wood log building provided a good setting prop located behind the grand home which was originally built in 1844 and Faulkner purchased it in the 1930s. Rowan Oak is a kind of mythical tree created by Faulkner.
